Paleozoic Era The Paleozoic Era from the Cambrian period through to the Permian period which is 570 million years through to 260 million years was the beginning of life that had hard body parts and could be preserved as fossils such as trilobites, crinoids (sea lillies), other echinoderms, brachiopods, arthropods, the first land plant fossils and the first fossil fish. Mesozoic Era The Mesozoic Era from the Triassic period through to the Cretaceous period from 260 million years through to 65 million years ago was the age of the dinosaurs and the first mammals. Some of the fossils from the Mesozoic era include dinosaur bones and coprolite, fossil fish, and ammonites. Cenozoic Era The Cenozoic era is from the Paleocene epoch to the Pleistocene epoch with is 65 million years ago until 10 thousand years ago and is the age of the dinosaurs and the first mammals. Some fossils from this era are mammal bones and teeth, sharks teeth and whale bones and teeth.
