Crystalline Malachite, Congo

A 3/16 inch thick coating of crystalline malachite covers the rock matrix. The malachite forms a bubbly surface or tiny sparkling crystals with larger crystals along the edge. The country rock is dusted with powder blue chrysacola studded with groups of malachite crystals. The color ranges from bright green to blackish dusting over the lighter green. The 3 inch by 2 1/4 inch by 2 1/8 inch malachite mineral specimen is from Southern District of Congo.
