Aurichalcite, Mexico
Aurichalcite is a carbonate of zinc
and copper. Needle crystals and a bubbly crust fills the openings
in limonite gossan matrix. The aurichalcite mineral specimen is 2
1/2 by 1 1/2 by 1 inch, from Mapimi Durango, Mexico.
Celestite is strontium sulfate from
Mexico in light blue elongated prisms up to 1/4 inch long encased
in white celestite. The celestite mineral specimen from Mexico looks
like white foam frozen with suspended light blue crystals. 4 1/4 inch
by 2 1/4 inch by 2 1/2 inch.

A sulfate formed in oxidized ore, the reddish creedite prisms radiate
to form bristled spheres. The Durango, Mexico mineral specimen is
composed of one 1 inch ball and two 1/4 inch balls
Marble matrix holds calcite crystals
and dioptase prisms up to 1/2 inch long. These are some of the larger
dioptase crystals in the Western Hemisphere. Location: The 6 by 5
by 3 1/2 inches mineral specimen from Northern Argentina also has
dioptase shot through the country rock.

7 inch by 2 1/2 inch by 3 inch Argentine mineral specimen is colorful
pink marble matrix with dioptase and micro galena shot through it.
The top is coated with calcite cleavages and dioptase prisms up to
1/2 inch. Dioptase this size is a rare occurence for the Western Hemisphere.

by 11/16 by 3/4 inch epidote mineral specimen is from Capelinha, Minas
Gerais, Brazil
Red raspberry colored grossular garnets
from Mexico have smooth reflective faces. 3 1/2 by 2 by 1 1/2 inch
with garnets up to 3/8 inch in diameter shot all through the handsome
cabinet specimen. The sugary matrix has other mineral inclusions such
as metallic black centers to garnet clusters. From Sierra de la Cruz,
Mun. de Sierra Mojada, Coahuila, Mexico.

Hematite plate crystals are 3/4 inch
flat squares with light etching. They are stacked at various angles
and topped with sprays of golden rutile needle crystals. The Brazil
mineral specimen from Nova Horizonte, Bahia has fantastic angular
shapes with bright metallic luster. 2 5/8 by 2 by 1 1/2 inch.
Hematite plate crystals are flat squares
with bright metallic luster topped with sprays of yellow rutile needle
crystals. The hematite and rutile mineral specimen from Nova Horizonte,
Bahia is 2 1/8 by 1 3/4 by 1 inch.
Hematite plate crystals are flat squares

crystals. Two flat crystal plates are suspended by smaller hematite
crystals forming an open area between the two that is layered with
sprays of yellow needle. The hematite and rutile mineral specimen

Hemimorphite is hydrous zinc silicate
formed as a secondary mineral in oxidized mineral deposits. 1 1/4
inch by 1 inch by 7/8 inch clustered sprays of transparent blade crystals
are from Chihuahua Mexico.
A new find from Corona Murta, Brazil,
Clear yellow mica crystal are oriented into five rayed stars There
is a cluster of perfect little stars on the small island of mica crystals.
3 1/4 by 3 by 2 1/2 inch.
lead chloroarsenate is a bubbly yellow
crust covering the sparkling quartzite matrix. The mimite mineral
specimen from Chihuahua, Mexico is 3 inch by 3 inch by 1 1/4 inch
thick.
The complex mineral psilomelane is an
oxide of barium and manganese with other trace metals, The black compact
mass has rounded mounds (botryoidal) on the surface. 2 3/4 by 1 1/2
by 1 1/2 inch.
Two 1 inch equal dimensional crystals
are ingrown forming a 1 1/2 by 1 by 1 inch peru pyrite specimen. The
crystals with bright gold metallic luster have a dozen ingrown crystals
scattered over the striated crystal faces.
The pyrite mineral specimen from Peru
has bright gold metallic luster on hundreds of crystal faces. The
impressive mineral display is 4 inch by 2 inch by 2 1/4 inch.
9/16 inch pyritohedron crystals are
grouped into a cluster that is 1 ¾ inch by 1 1/4 inch by 3/4
inch thick. The mineral specimen from Quiruvilco, Peru has a light
tarnish that subdues the metallic luster.
1 pound piece of Mexico pyrite, oron
sulfate, has brassy metallic sheen. Pyritohedron (5 sided faces) crystals
with sharp crystal form range in size from tiny to 5/8 inch across.
Pyrite mineral specimen is 3 by 2 1/2 by 2 1/8 inch.
calcium titanium silicate. Green titianite
in envelope shaped crystals and several V twinned crystals in a tent
shaped formation that hugs the surface. There are dark green, sharp
stacked crystals and several other metamorphic associated micro minerals.
The titianite mineral specimen from Brazil is on a 1 inch thick metallic
matrix, 3 by 3 inch.
Dark green uvite tourmaline crystals
are stubby three sided prisms up to 3/8 inch. The matrix is coated
with clear calcite and tiny uvite grains. The mineral specimen from
Bahia, Brazil is 1 5/8 by 1 3/8 by 1 1/4 inch.
Clear green uvite tourmalines have a
blocky three sided crystals 3/16 inch and 5/16 inch. Clear calcite
crystals have a sparkling icy appearance. The 1 inch by 1 1/4 by 1
1/2 inch mineral specimen is from Bahia, Brazil.
Drusy quartz, pink from included rhodochrosite,
has many tabular crystals of pink to brown rhodochrosite perched on
the surface. The sparkling quartz and rhodochrosite covers a galena
matrix that is a mass of 1/4 to 1/2 inch crystals that have stepped
faces with brilliant metallic luster. 3 inch by 2 inch by 1 1/2 inch
rhodochrosite mineral specimen is from Raura, Peru.

crystals with a porcelain luster hold siderite crystal rhombohedra
from 3/8 to 5/8 inch. The source of Governador Valadares, Minas Gerais,
Brazil refers to these as manganosiderite. The mineral specimen is
1 3/4 inch by 1 3/4 inch by 1 1/4 inch.
