The colorful meta marble matrix has
a calcite filled vug that holds deep green, transparent prisms of
dioptase, up to ½ inch in length. Dioptase is hydrous silicate
of copper and forms as a secondary mineral from weathered zones of
copper ore deposits. This Argentine mineral specimen, measuring 4
inches by 2 inches by 2 1/2 inches, is a superb display of Dioptase.
